Air Conditioning
We understand your concern about the air conditioning. However, this issue was not reported to us during your rental period. Had you contacted us at the time, we would have been happy to assist you immediately.
It is also possible that the correct A/C function was not activated, which is a common misunderstanding and can give the impression that the system is not working.
Off-road Driving
Driving off-road is a clear violation of the rental agreement. According to our records, you traveled from Berat to Gramsh through Mount Tomorr using very poor road conditions, while on your return you used the proper asphalt road. This indicates that it was a choice rather than a navigation error.
Google Maps does not typically suggest off-road routes as primary roads. If a mistake occurs, it is important not to continue on unsafe terrain.
Driving in such areas is dangerous and can result in serious damage to the vehicle, including tires, suspension, or the undercarriage. Additionally, roadside assistance in remote areas may take up to 24 hours.
Regarding the Saranda–Vlora (SH8) Road
This route was not mentioned in our previous communication. The SH8 road between Saranda and Vlora is a fully asphalted road and does not involve any off-road driving. Therefore, we are unclear why it has been referenced in your review, as it is misleading for others.
Why the Fee Applies
The applied fee (ranging from €150–€300) is due to the risks and damages associated with off-road driving. In your case, tire damage occurred.
Please note that insurance does not cover damage resulting from off-road use with a non-off-road vehicle.
This fee helps cover potential damage and excessive wear caused under these conditions.
Final Note
All destinations in Albania are accessible via proper asphalt roads. Choosing to drive off-road with an unsuitable vehicle is the driver’s responsibility, as outlined in the agreement you signed.
