I rented a 2007 Volkswagen Touareg from exoticr for 10 days, and it was the worst experience ever!

When I picked up the car, the owner assured me that it was in perfect condition, with new oil in the engine, a spare tire, and everything else I needed. In reality, the car had a huge number of problems:

1. We got a low oil pressure warning after 100 km. I had to buy and add 3 liters of oil, for which I didn't even get my money back (60 euros).

2. The car had a flat tire, and there was no compressor or spare tire. The owner of the car said, “Just pump up the tire,” and did not help us solve the problem in any other way. I had to repair the tire at the nearest tire repair shop and received a message from the owner saying, “This is not my problem,” even though we had full insurance (another €10 of my expenses).

3. On the way back to the airport, the engine stopped starting due to a low battery charge. I never forgot to turn off the headlights, but the owner just blamed me for draining the battery.

4. The windshield washer did not work.

5. The right windshield wiper did not work.

6. The rear windshield wiper was missing.

7. The headlights were completely foggy, and we couldn't see anything on the road at night.

8. There were a huge number of errors on the dashboard (four-wheel drive error, glow plug error, external lighting error).

9. The car smelled terrible. I even had to buy car air fresheners to somehow mask the smell.

10. The alarm key fob almost never worked, so I had to open and close the car with the key and start the engine before the alarm went off.

11. The driver's seat kept sliding down, so I had to raise it every time.

12. When I first got the car, I had to pay €4 for parking at the airport, even though it said I could pick up the car at the airport for free.

The owner promised to refund the money I spent on oil and tire repairs. But when I was on my way to the airport, he suddenly said he couldn't come and would send me the money to my IBAN. I only had a few hours left before my flight home, and I was afraid of missing my flight, but he flatly refused to come to give me the money and take the car back. He lied that he was far away, but when we left the car in the parking lot, he arrived very quickly.

I still haven't gotten my money back. It was the worst car rental experience ever! I strongly recommend that everyone MUST STAY AWAY from this person. He will try to cheat you at every turn. I regret trusting his words and promises.

This host is a thief. I returned the car spotless, cleaner than when I got it and with a full tank, yet he kept my deposit. This is pure robbery and a total scam. Shameful, dishonest, and not trustworthy at all. RentFromLocals should remove this kind of scammer immediately.

Ce type est un voleur. J’ai rendu la voiture nickel, plus propre qu’à la remise et avec le plein, et il a volé ma caution sans aucune raison. Honteux, malhonnête, à bannir de la plateforme. J’espère que RentFromLocals vire ce genre d’escroc, parce que c’est de l’arnaque pure et simple.

The car does not conform to the order. It was supposed to be a vw golf 1.9 TDI, and it was a golf 1.4TSI. The car had broken door locks, air conditioning did not work. Seat stripped, no air in the spare wheel. No contact with the landlord.

Don’t trust exoticr. He never gives us the car. He never find any solutions. It was a terrible expérience. I don’t recommend it.

L'auto consegnata non era quella prevista ma mi è comunque andata bene per quanto riguarda il modello nonostante il ritardo per la consegna e la scarsa comunicazione. Questa però aveva pezzi all'interno dell'auto smontati e lasciati li a terra (tipo il bracciolo ecc), bottiglie, lattine, iquos, un paio di mutande e sporcizia generale sparsi per la macchina.

Durante la vacanza il motorino di avviamento si è guastato e ci siamo dovuti arrangiare abbastanza da soli per capire cosa non andasse e trovare una soluzione. Con molta calma e fatica è stato risolto il tutto.
